Hi everyone!
I have a serious clutter problem.
I live in a modest three-bedroomed semi-detatched house with my husband and four year old twin girls. There are several reasons why I live in a cluttered home:
- My house is full of children’s books, toys, paintings and drawings.
- I run two party plan / direct sales businesses from home, and therefore have my kits, stock, business tools and paperwork files.
- As a part-time student (and life-long learning devotee) I have a great many textbooks and course manuals.
- As a relative newbie to network marketing, blogging, etc, I have a large collection of reference books, self-help manuals, CD / DVD tutorials, software, etc.
- I am a born hoarder. I like to have things and I like to keep things. I am very reluctant to throw away things with sentimental value, such as favourite books, old music cassettes, letters and cards.
- My daughters and I love reading, so we have almost as many books as the local library!!
- I live in a new-build property with small rooms and inadequate storage.
- I have a day job and home businesses, so find it hard to keep on top of things with regular clearouts!
So, what can we do to alleviate the clutter in our homes?
In my next few posts, I’ll explore different ways of de-cluttering and look at some clever storage ideas.
Thanks for reading!
